Myofascial Release Therapist and steward of Rivermede

Meet Leslie

Leslie Fraser Breneman is an intuitive, expert-level Myofascial Release Therapist trained by John F. Barnes, the Master and Founder of Myofascial Release™.

Leslie is the current steward of Rivermede, has respected the land and the home by reviving the gardens that existed centuries ago, and has renovated many areas of the home and barns – while honoring the abundant and rich history that exudes from every corner.

She can be found anywhere on the property at any given time making repairs, moving lumber, tending the gardens and landscape, painting a barn, splitting and stacking wood for the 5 fireplaces in the home, or building a pallet wall. She is a true “Jackie-of-many-trades”.

Leslie returns home to Maine…

I was born and raised on the coast of New England, and studied in France for two years after high school. I have traveled back and forth across the US in a beat up old van with all my worldly possessions, and have a history of being a “sailing junkie”, having sailed since I was old enough to scramble up onto the deck. I have sailed on a few of the antique schooners on the coast of Maine doing massage therapy, as well as being a race crew member in Santa Barbara, California in the 90’s, and recently crossed from Florida to the Bahamas on a 41 ft Morgan sloop. A dabbler in many trades over the years, I have had experience in sales and marketing, visual merchandising, market research and even furniture restoration, among other things. I have done printmaking, wood sculpting, ceramics and painting. I am also an amateur shutterbug, and enjoy gardening, building things from discarded wood (pallets etc), re-purposing discarded treasures. One of my favorite things to do is assemble pallet walls from up-cycled wood that I salvage. I am always looking for ways to give things a second life.

A sailing junkie since I could scramble aboard a sailboat, I just love the freedom that comes from the wind in my face, and bobbing of the sailboat as it glides through the surf, and the lapping of the water against the hull when sleeping aboard.

One of the greatest honors of my life has been raising this lad. A black belt in mixed martial arts, my son, Jack, has an amazing work ethic, loves motorcycles (or anything fast!) and started his life in the trades as an electrician in 2025.
